Workbooks cover letter and number skills Activity Books cover colors and miscellaneous concepts as well as reinforcement and review. Many of the illustrations reflect the distinctive dress styles of the Mennonite publishers. Pages are basically black and white, but there are accent colors. If you loved the assignments in the first Kindergarten game, then you will enjoy even more kindergarten fun with this new game. There are also 50 collectible Monstermon Cards and 30 unlockable outfits. Instructions are printed at the bottom of each page. Kindergarten 2 introduces a bigger and better game with nine new story missions and more than 15 new environments. This combination of workbooks and activity books introduces the concepts of matching, dot-to-dot, color names, letter sounds, letter writing, recognizing and writing numbers 1-100, patterns, sequencing, and more. Kindergarten II materials consist of five workbooks and five activity books. With the stated objective of preparing students to be successful in their 1st grade Learning to Read and Math programs, the goal in the LittleLight books is to introduce concepts rather than to expect mastery. Kindergarten is a new idea for them and frankly, they've done a good job with it. Vocabulary Building.CLE materials are a favorite of many because of their academic strength and visual simplicity as well as the straight-forward and realistic illustrations. These activities auditorily train students to hear phonetic differences and to visually highlight phonetic chunks. Through oral dictation, students practice writing phonograms in isolation, words by themselves, and writing complete sentences containing select list words. In addition to workbook activities, each lesson features a short story on the student’s reading level that utilizes that week’s spelling words. This aids in visualization of each word and its phonetic chunks, and makes students better decoders as they begin to see patterns in words. In each lesson, students identify consonants and consonant teams/blends with one colored pencil, and vowels and vowel teams with another. The main focus of each lesson is on the phonograms being taught, but all aspects of each word are addressed. Incorrect words tend to confuse spellers who are working to master and remember correct spelling, and the visual of an incorrectly spelled word can stick with young readers. Students are never given a list of incorrect spelling words and asked to choose the one that is spelled correctly. What is special about Traditional Spelling? Teachers and parents will appreciate the ease of use. Students will enjoy the consistent format of the lessons. Each lesson has a four-page spread of written activities in the student book, vocabulary definitions, and teacher-directed classroom activities and educational games. The Traditional Spelling program incorporates reading, writing, and dictation of spelling words. Required Supplements: Phonics Flashcards and Classical Phonics. Continue building your student’s spelling skills with Traditional Spelling II. Paired with StoryTime and More StoryTime Treasures in first grade, or with the literature study guides in second grade, Traditional Spelling provides your student with an extensive mastery-based study of phonics for spelling and reading. It is designed to follow completion of the Kindergarten Curriculum Package or First Start Reading Books A-D, which ensure students have mastered reading “consonant-vowel-consonant” words with short vowels. It is a comprehensive, phonetic approach to teaching spelling, and is the culmination of our primary Reading & Phonics program. Memoria Press is proud to introduce the Traditional Spelling series.
